SAN FRANCISCO - In response to a complaint for declaratory judgment by Apple Computer Inc., a California software firm has alleged patent infringement by Apple's iPod technology in counterclaims filed April 17 (Apple Computer Inc. v. Burst.com Inc., No. 3:06-cv-00019 MHP, N.D. Calif.).
Burst.com Inc. denied Apple's assertions that its patents were invalid and noninfringed. In turn, Burst alleged infringement of its patents by Apple's iPod devices, iTunes software, iTunes online music store, QuickTime product suite and MacIntosh computers preloaded with related software.
