A grand jury on Friday accused Warren County [OH] Judge Dallas Powers and a former probation officer of public indecency in the courthouse and theft in office � four months after a special prosecutor began investigating sexual harassment complaints about the judge from court employees.
Powers, 70, of Clearcreek Twp. faces 13 felony and three misdemeanor charges.
His former probation officer, Libbie Sexton, 34, of Clarksville, was indicted on four felonies and three misdemeanors. . . .
[P]owers and Sexton, who recently changed her last name from Gerondale, each face three misdemeanor public indecency charges alleging they "engaged in sexual conduct" in the county court building in June and July 2004.
Powers, a part-time county judge for 16 years, also faces three felony counts of sexual battery, alleging he used coercion for sexual contact with another court employee in October 1998, July 2004 and August 2004.
Powers is also accused of gross sexual imposition alleging he "placed his mouth" on a court employee's breast in June 2004.
Powers and Sexton also face theft-in-office charges involving more than $5,000 in regular and overtime hours he authorized for her from December 2001 to Nov. 9, 2004. Sexton faces a second theft-in-office charge alleging she used county equipment to earn an "online college degree" in June 2004.
