LOS ANGELES (AP) - A 68-year-old former Superior Court judge was arrested Thursday for investigation of embezzling $176,000 from clients of his law firm over nearly a 10-year period, officials said.
Huey Percy Shepard, who served as a Superior Court judge from 1975 to 1981, allegedly embezzled $99,000 from a 90-year-old woman on life support who was forced to sell her home to pay for medical care, the district attorney's office said in a statement.
Shepard had been hired as an attorney to help the woman's daughter who was acting as her conservator.
