Here's another one:
MIDDLETOWN [OH] — Mouthing off to a judge brought an accused bank robber a $1 million bond and 90 days in the Middletown City Jail during his arraignment Wednesday.
Allen F. Garrod, 49, was taken into custody at a Van Lear Street residence in Dayton following a 3 p.m. robbery of the Fifth Third Bank branch inside Kroger, 5420 Liberty-Fairfield Road, Liberty Twp. He was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a Feb. 21 holdup of a Fifth Third Bank branch inside Kroger on Towne Boulevard in Middletown.
Garrod was arraigned before Middletown Municipal Court Judge Mark W. Wall. After a series of questions, Garrod told the judge he didn't care what he did to him because he had talked to the FBI and would soon be out of the city jail because he was wanted for "bank robberies all over this country."
Wall told Garrod the alleged robbery committed in his city was his only concern. The judge assured Garrod he would be in Middletown for a while, then set his bond at $1 million.
As Garrod was led from the courtroom, he told the judge where he could "stick" the bond.
Wall then gave Garrod 30 days in jail for contempt of court. After cursing at Wall two more times, Garrod upped his time by 60 days in the city jail on two additional contempt charges.
The judge told Garrod he would serve out his time in Middletown before the FBI or other police agencies took custody of him for other crimes he may have committed.
