Some of the jurors in a corruption trial involving former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy discussed the case in emails before convicting him, and used evidence gleaned from the Internet in their deliberations, defense attorneys said in a motion seeking a new trial.
The motion, filed yesterday, included copies of four emails that attorneys said were sent to them anonymously, as well as an affidavit from an unidentified juror alleging that some jurors had introduced information about the case that they had gotten off the Internet to other jurors.
