Brownsville [TX] attorney Alberto Pullen was arrested Sunday after firing gunshots from his backyard at the Valley International Country Club, several yards from golfers and a state district judge on a nearby green.
Pullen, 45, has been a frequent media fixture while representing former sheriff Conrado Cantu in a multi-count federal indictment. Cantu pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering Friday. Sentencing is set for September.
The Sunday morning shots prompted the golfers, including state District Judge Abel Limas, to take cover and flee after they reported hearing at least 10 blasts, police reports show. No injuries were reported.
Limas and other witnesses could not be reached for comment Monday but police said the shots came from Pullens backyard on the 1700 block of Wild Rose Lane.
According to police reports, officers found Pullen shirtless and bleeding from his nose and right shin. Police said they found bullet casings on his patio. A 9mm handgun, a gun holster and ammunition were in plain sight on a living room coffee table.
Pullen declined to comment but told police that his family was out of town and that he was just having a good time.
Just "having a good time," bloody and firing weapons while the family's out of town. Nice. Details here from The Brownsville Herald.
