A Montgomery-based lawyer was arrested and placed in the Covington County [AL] Jail on contempt charges Friday.
Attorney A. Wesley Pitters was remanded to the jail by order of District Judge Trippy McGuire after showing up late for a trial and allegedly lying to the judge about his reason for being late.
According to the Order of Contempt issued by the District Court, Pitters was booked into the jail at 11:25 a.m. January 14 and released at 2:06 p.m.
