I'm not a huge baseball fan, and I'm not particularly knowledgeable about the game. But I lived in Providence, RI for 13 years, and the Sox were my team (though I saw many more PawSox games at McCoy than Red Sox games at Fenwick). I witnessed the '86 heartbreak. I knew The Curse.
This was unbelievable! To see them come back from 0-3 against the dreaded Yankees and go on to win eight straight and sweep the Cardinals . . . . This was once-in-a-lifetime baseball. Congratulations Red Sox! Congratulations Boston! Congratulations New England! Congratulations Red Sox Nation! The Curse is lifted! The Babe (not to mention Bill Buckner) will finally rest peacefully tonight.
