Californians learned somewhat graphically this month that the state's two most glamorous politicians -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom -- have something in common: glamorous wives who wield power over their men in the bedroom.
Before an intimate crowd of 1,000, Schwarzenegger confessed that his Democratic wife, Maria Shriver, had exacted some revenge for his red-meat speech at the Republican National Convention. His matter-of-fact admission of "There was no sex for 14 days" cracked up the audience.
A few days earlier, addressing a gay rights gala in New York, the mayor's wife hit a new level of public raunchiness. "Is he hot? Yeah," Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom told the crowd. "Is he hung? Yeah." Then many in the crowd said she seemed to simulate oral sex.
