Justices Won't Hear Sammy the Bull's Beef Over Book Profits

Sammy the Bull won't get to air his beef at the Supreme Court.

The justices did not comment Monday in turning down an appeal from the former Mafia hit man and mob turncoat, who wants to reclaim more than $380,000 in royalties from a book about his life.

Sammy (real name: Salvatore Gravano) cooperated with author Peter Maas in return for a share of royalties. He argued that the royalties were derived from an "expressive work" and were not the profits of crime, and that in seizing them prosecutors violated his First Amendment rights.
