Justice, Attorney Charged in Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. - A state Supreme Court justice and a prominent defense attorney were charged with fraud and bribery Friday stemming from a scheme in which the lawyer allegedly bought off judges in return for favorable treatment in court cases.

Biloxi attorney Paul Minor is accused of funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans and gifts to Justice Oliver Diaz Jr.; the justice's former wife; and former Harrison County Judges Wes Teel and John Whitfield.
